‘Leiden Islanders’ ice hockey team looking for expats
As a team of the official icehockey-club ‘Leiden Lions’ we participate in the "recreational" division of the "Dutch Hockey League".
Our team consists of former students between the age of 20 to 50. A healthy mix of lawyers, economists, engineers and foreign expats from companies like Shell, Europol, Ernst & Young etc.
We are looking for new members who enjoy playing semi competitive ice hockey and enjoy having a beer after the game.
Our season runs from October to March:
- Practice, once a week on wednesday in Leiden at 20.30h.
- Games, once a week on weekends in Leiden or away games in Amsterdam, Zoetermeer or Utrecht.
- Social events, like a yearly BBQ and tournaments.
Our home base is located at the Vondellaan in Leiden (just behind Central Station) and provides us with a nice ‘gezellige’ bar to enjoy some drinks after games and practice.
Those of you who are interested are more than welcome to attend a practice or just come and take a look to one of our games without any obligations.
