Learn to skate at the Ice Hockey School
Ice hockey is without a doubt a special sport that everyone knows, but few practice. A great sport to watch and even more fun to play yourself. Only when you do it yourself you can appreciate what it is. The Ice Hockey School is quite often the first introduction to ice hockey for many children. For some it is even the first ice skating experience.
Participation
The Ice Hockey School is open to children from 4 years.
Children can also participate in the Ice Hockey School through School Sport.
Learning goals
The aim of Leiden Lions is to introduce children to ice hockey in a fun way. Fun is paramount and children learn the basics of ice hockey in a playful way. The first thing the children learn is skating. Skating experience is absolutely not necessary. The children are divided into three groups. Each group has its own learning objectives for various skating and stick techniques.
Equipment
The club provides a helmet and stick. Please bring the following equipment yourself:
- gloves (preferably no mittens)
- ice hockey skates (for rent at OOMS sport at the ice rink)
- knee and elbow protectors (for example of rollerblading)
